About us
We founded Okanagan Valley Wudang in 2022 to carry forward the living tradition of Wudang martial arts. Rooted in the Daoist culture of Wudang Mountain, we teach Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Qigong as complete systems of cultivation—martial, spiritual, and medicinal. For us, these arts are more than techniques: they are pathways to harmonize body and mind with the rhythms of nature. By training together, we preserve a lineage that has been handed down to us and invite our students to join us in walking the path of Dao through discipline, health, and inner transformation.
We spent six years living and training in China under master Yuan Xiu Gang at the Wudang Daoist Traditional Kung Fu Academy. While there we studied Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation, herbal medicine, Daoist music, and ancient and modern Chinese language.
In 2014 we moved to Houston where Simon wrote his PhD under Jeff Kripal and Anne Klein at Rice University. In 2019 we moved up to Penticton, BC, and opened our Kung Fu school.
